Despite of the relevant progresses currently happening in electronic markets, just a few technologies reach space sector. The strong reliability and quality assurance requirements, together with the scarce launch opportunities (which makes direct influence in final operation prices) produce that only a selective number of innovative devices or technologies are selected to become part of a Space mission.

Nevertheless, such innovations in microelectronics and other emerging fields (like photonics, micro-mechanics, etc.) enable the development of smaller and cheaper satellite systems. Nano and Picosatellites developments now are feasible and affordable, transforming the satellite market to a more open market.

Emxys understand that this trend would become an opportunity for small payloads to be flawn, helping scientists and technologists to reach higher readiness levels at lower prices in less time.


emxys develops UPV Politech.1

emxys NAOSat platform has been selected by the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia for its first technology demonstration Space mission. The mission will inject in Low Earth Orbit three experimental payloads from different UPV research teams - a telescope camera for Earth Imaging, a high-data rate microwave transmitter, and a demonstrator of optical fiber temperature sensors-. Besides, Politech.1 will also include an experiment from NASA to study the nature of the upper atmosphere. The private company Aurorasat, developing the Ground Control Station, and the European Space Agency (ESA) will also participate actively in the project.
